Today's POP is Daniel, who is off to the green island.
In the last issue of german culture bible 032c there's a feature on American Gigolo and Richard Gere's Giorgio Armani clothes in the movie. He looks startingly modern. So it comes as no surprise that Giorgio Armani launches Frames for life, an updated version of their 80s glasses. Check out the styles after the jump.
Today's POP is Daniel, quizzing Stefano and Dolce about the reopened D&G flagship.
POP: What did you have in mind when you designed the boutique in London?
Stefano Gabbana: We wanted to create a new space for D&G, representing how the spirit of the brand has evolved and matured. The space is in line with what we are doing globally for the brand, from the collections and the advertising campaigns to the historic reopening of the boutique on Corso Venezia in Milan.
Today's POP is Max, not exactly looking back in anger.
'I LIKE… SOME OF THE COATS… A LOT!'
Check this. Apart from being quote central ('Young, fresh and clean but no caffeine' anyone?) this A/W 1997/89 men's collections round up is WELL GOOD. The type, the proper models, the YOUNG designers that still seem really grown up, the STRONG clothes, it all looks WICKED. And is it just me or is Donna Karan quite FIT?
Today's POP is Max, who takes some time out from his busy next-issue-of-POP schedule to tell us about football. Of course.
Y-3? BECAUSE WE WANT TO!
Hey. Check out the film that accompanies the Y-3 campaign for this A/W featuring none other than Zinedine Zidane, head-butting nice guy and easily one of the best footballers ever. Featuring stills by Alasdair Mclellan and styling by Nicola Formichetti, plus a whole lot of black netting dancing in the air, the campaign continues Y-3's football theme from last season. Back of the net!
Today's POP is Austrianfashionnet, reporting from the land where fashion meets art.
"Clothes from the Flor de Illusion collection were taken along by David when he accompanied dance companies in various countries, and dancers were asked to “strike a pose” in these clothes."
Today's POP is Ben, thinking he can bromance it up with hand-crocheted throws… Is there a contradiction in there? We're not sure.
I finally woke up to the stark reality mid-picnic on Saturday afternoon that the well-loved, nana-knitted patchwork blanket I’d brought to the park with me was too twee for my aspiring man-about-town image. But I’ve found the perfect masculine replacement, thanks to KTZ designer Marjan Pejoski’s foray into homeware.
Today's POP is Austrianfashionnet, whipping up something for the hot summer days.
Only Vienna Viennese cafés have, where no one bats an eyelid should you want to read the whole issue of POP before you get on with your day. And only Vienna Viennese Eiskaffee has (not really true strictly speaking but you know what we mean). Click here for the recipe and video. You have been warned.
Today's POP is Daniel, rejuvenated after a long walk along the Berkshire Thames.
No, that's not me in the picture being 'rejuvenated'. That's Isaac Carew who together with Natasa Vojnovic star in the new Jamie Morgan trailer and campaign for the Reiss autumn/winter collection.
The trailer is nothing but stunning, reducing us to watering mouths. Watch for yourselves after the jump.
